4140 Engineering Steel
Chromium-molybdenum through-hardening alloy steel (AISI 4140 / 708M40). Supplied in the hardened and tempered (T) condition, it combines high strength, toughness and good fatigue resistance, and is widely used in oil & gas and general engineering. Higher carbon than 4130 for greater hardenability and strength.
